Staff Nurse

About the role

We are looking for Band 5 Registered Nurses to join our established ward team in Portree Hospital, a community hospital situated in the North of Skye. The ward is mixed and provides rehabilitation, end‑of‑life/palliative care and dementia care to patients from the local community.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high standard nursing care in a busy ward and urgent care centre.
• Assist with enteral feeding via PEG, end‑of‑life care and dementia care.
• Plan discharge and support patients to return home where possible.
• Act independently in the absence of the GP’s or Advanced Practitioners.
• Support the ward during internal rotations of day and night duties.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse designation.
• Will possess a full driving licence (advantage).

Additional information

• Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours, with part‑time hours adjusted pro‑rata.
• Reduction in hourly rate will ensure pay remains unaffected.
