The Work

Most QA roles sit far away from the product.

You test features. Log bugs. Move on.

This one is different.

You’ll be testing software that sits inside a live electronic trading environment, used by market participants across multiple European markets. Every release has real consequences. Orders, prices, market data, system reliability.

You’ll work closely with developers, product specialists and operations engineers to make sure every upgrade and release behaves exactly as expected before it reaches production.

You won’t be isolated in a testing silo. You’ll see the full lifecycle of the platform — from requirements and design through to release and production support.

And because the engineering group is still relatively small, your work will be visible. The tests you design, the automation you build and the issues you uncover will directly shape how the platform evolves.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll split your time across manual and automated testing of a complex trading platform.

That includes:

  • Designing and running test scenarios across both front-end and backend systems
  • Writing and maintaining automated test scripts
  • Working with developers and analysts to clarify requirements and expected behaviour
  • Investigating defects and analysing system behaviour under different conditions
  • Helping expand the team’s test automation capability
  • Acting as test lead on smaller development initiatives

You’ll also occasionally support clients and technology partners with testing guidance when they integrate with the platform.

What you’ll need

You’ll likely recognise most of this from your current work.

  • Experience testing complex software systems, ideally in financial markets
  • Comfort working in Linux / Unix environments
  • Ability to query and analyse data using SQL
  • Understanding of test design, execution and defect management

And ideally one or more of the following:

  • Test automation experience (JavaScript, TypeScript or Python)
  • Experience testing real-time or event-driven systems
  • Exposure to equities trading, market data, or exchange platforms
