Daintta is seeking a hands‑on Automation Engineer to design, develop, maintain and support the delivery of scalable, automation‑led quality engineering across complex high‑assurance environments and client and internal project systems.

The role supports the delivery of scalable, risk‑based quality assurance through modern automation frameworks, CI/CD integration, and close collaboration with engineering and delivery teams.

The successful candidate will work closely with QA leadership and engineering teams to help improve delivery confidence, accelerate feedback cycles, and support scalable quality engineering practices across technically complex and operationally critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and suites
  • Support ownership of automation delivery activities across assigned projects or workstreams
  • Implement automation across UI, API, integration, and regression testing
  • Support automation within CI/CD pipelines
  • Improve test reliability, execution speed, and reporting
  • Support risk‑based testing activities across delivery teams
  • Contribute to functional, integration, exploratory, and system testing
  • Assist with environment, test data, and integration validation
  • Investigate defects, automation failures, and environmental issues, supporting root cause analysis and resolution activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve automation and quality processes
  • Contribute to reusable QA tooling and frameworks
  • Promote shift‑left testing and rapid feedback practices
  • Support quality metrics and reporting activities
  • Work closely with developers, QA leads, and delivery teams
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and technical discussions
  • Support client and stakeholder engagements where required

Skills/Knowledge

The role requires the following key skills / knowledge, non‑exhaustively:

  • Strong hands‑on automation experience across UI and API testing
  • Experience with modern automation frameworks and tooling
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps delivery environments
  • Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience working within consultancy or client‑facing environments
  • Exposure to cloud‑native or distributed systems (Azure, AWS)
  • Experience in defense, public sector, or regulated environments
  • Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or equivalent framework experience
  • API testing tool exposure (Postman, Bruno, Newman, REST Assured)
  • Awareness of emerging tooling and modern quality engineering approaches
  • Engineering mindset with strong attention to quality
  • Able to apply pragmatic and risk‑based approaches to quality engineering across different client environments.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Demonstrates curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to continuously develop technical and quality engineering skills across new tools, technologies, domains, and delivery environments.

Location?

Hybrid, with 2-3 days working from Daintta office (London or Cheltenham)or on client site as required.
