Role Overview

Experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor sought to join a dynamic team. The role involves handling complex cases autonomously, from start to finish, with a proactive and commercially focused approach. Responsibilities include cooperating with clients, medical experts, and other stakeholders to provide clear guidance and maintain strong relationships.

Main Responsibilities

  • Providing support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to customers
  • Proactive and commercial case management and progression
  • Supporting the Team Leader in ensuring delivery of the team’s financial performance KPIs
  • Effective and thorough time recording

Additional Responsibilities

  • Discussing and agreeing case tactics and planning with the Team Leader and team members
  • Identifying cases ready for LOC, settlement and service within the team
  • Working with the team to ensure relevant information is collected and collated for case progression
  • Managing a caseload in a proactive commercial manner
  • Co‑ordinating progression of cases with all internal and external parties
  • Drafting legal documentation including LOC and letters of instruction
  • Negotiating settlement and issuing/s processing proceedings if required
  • Overseeing documentation and correspondence produced by the team
  • Advising the team on any technical issues arising

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Recent experience of handling a case load
  • 8 years+ PQE or equivalent experience working in Clinical Negligence
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment
  • Ability to work well with junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring
  • Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent Client Care Skills
