Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer / Engineering Geologist

A great opportunity for an experienced Geoenvironmental Engineer or Engineering Geologist to step into a senior role, leading site investigations and delivering technically strong, high-quality projects across the UK.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of projects from initial design through to delivery — managing site investigations, mentoring junior staff, and acting as a key point of contact for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, manage, and supervise ground investigations
- Cost projects and coordinate subcontractors
- Attend site to oversee investigations and assessments
- Produce interpretative geotechnical and geoenvironmental reports
- Undertake and review GQRA (human health, ground gas, controlled waters)
- Supervise foundations, earthworks, remediation, and validation works
- Prepare Health & Safety documentation and ensure compliance
- Lead site meetings and liaise with clients
- Mentor and support junior team members
Requirements
- Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ UK experience in contaminated land and ground investigation
- Strong understanding of UK regulatory guidance
- Experience delivering geoenvironmental and geotechnical projects
- Knowledge of GQRA and foundation assessment
- Coal mining investigation/remediation experience (desirable)
- Experience with Openground, AutoCAD, or QGIS (desirable)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Working towards Chartered status (or already Chartered)
- Full UK driving licence
