NC Associates are working in partnership with a well-established and growing Accountancy Practice based in Altrincham to recruit an Accountancy Practice Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional looking to step into a leadership role within a progressive and client-focused firm.
Reporting directly to the Directors, you will play a key role in managing client relationships, overseeing workflow across the accounts team, and supporting the development of junior staff while ensuring high standards of service delivery.
Accountancy Practice Manager Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients
- Reviewing statutory accounts, management accounts, and tax-related work
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, providing advice and support
- Managing workflow and deadlines across the accounts team
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members and Accounts Seniors
- Reviewing work prepared by junior staff and providing technical guidance
- Supporting business advisory and client planning work
- Ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and internal practice procedures
- Attending client meetings and maintaining strong long-term relationships
- Supporting Directors with practice growth and operational improvements
Accountancy Practice Manager Experience Required
To be successful in your application, you should have the following experience:
Essential:
- ACA / ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
- Strong background within an Accountancy Practice environment
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Experience reviewing and supervising the work of junior staff
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Desirable:
- Experience using cloud-based accounting software including Xero and Sage
- Previous leadership or team management experience
- Exposure to advisory-focused client work
