Estimating Manager (A‑Player) — Fire Safety | Salesforce | High‑Volume Sales Engine

Salary: £75,000 basic + performance bonus/commission (target OTE = 10–20% of salary following probation review).

Onyx Fire & Security is scaling fast — and we’re hiring an Estimating Manager to own and lead a high‑velocity sales operation in a specialist, compliance‑led sector. We’re not looking for someone to “manage a pipeline”. We’re looking for someone who can build a machine: pace, standards, conversion and margin — consistently.

We deliver fire safety solutions across passive fire protection and wider fire safety works, with a strong reputation for quality and compliance.

What you’ll own

Take full responsibility for a busy inbound environment, managing up to 150 quotations per week, ensuring speed, accuracy, and commercial discipline — and leading a team to deliver the same.

What success looks like

  • Faster quote turnaround (without quality dropping)
  • Higher conversion (with the right customers)
  • Margin discipline (commercial sharpness, not discounting)
  • A team that hits standards even when it’s busy
  • Salesforce used properly: clean data, real forecasting, visible performance & Leveraging AI

What we’re looking for (non‑negotiable)

  • 5+ years Salesforce experience (we run the business through it)
  • 5+ years Sales Management experience in a high‑volume environment
  • Proven track record improving conversion + performance under pressure
  • Leadership: standards, coaching, accountability
  • Experience in specialist contracting / fire safety / compliance‑led services (or a closely related construction environment)
