We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance Director to join our leadership team in London Bridge. Reporting directly to the Board, this is a hands-on role with responsibility for the day-to-day financial operations of the business, alongside broader operational oversight.
The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating within a fast-paced SME environment. You will be a confident communicator, capable of building strong relationships across the business while maintaining a practical and solutions-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee monthly and weekly payroll processes, including management of finance team members
- Prepare financial reporting including management accounts, statutory accounts, budgeting, and forecasting
- Produce weekly management information and KPI reporting
- Maintain detailed overhead cost analysis and reporting
- Support with personal financial administration for the Managing Director where required
- Monitor cash flow and funding availability, including preparation of regular cash flow forecasts
- Ensure compliance with all fiscal, statutory, and regulatory obligations
- Manage purchase ledger processes and supplier payments
- Oversee the preparation and filing of statutory accounts and tax returns
- Maintain the nominal ledger and chart of accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations
- Review and process employee expense claims
- Administer company pension and benefits schemes
- Manage company credit card processes and controls
- Support operational and non-financial business functions where required
- Lead and contribute to ad hoc projects across the business
Skills & Experience Required
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Previous experience producing management accounts and cash flow forecasting is essential
- Strong Excel and financial modelling capability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
- Previous SME or owner-managed business experience preferred
- Experience overseeing payroll and credit control functions advantageous
- Commercially aware with the confidence to challenge processes and drive improvements
- Hands-on, adaptable, and willing to work collaboratively across a growing business
