Job Description
Senior Advisor to lead business management and PMO activities for Chemicals work. Work fast‑paced to ensure effective and efficient use of resources and business processes to deliver successful outcomes. Lead coordination and delivery of key business needs including business planning; progress monitoring and reporting; risk management; benefits management and realisation; data management; financial forecasting, monitoring and reporting; and future funding bids.
Work collaboratively across Chemicals teams and wider EA and Defra colleagues. Excellent collaboration, communication and engagement skills essential.
The team
The team sits within the Environment and Business Directorate. It leads business management and PMO for a community of chemicals teams. The team is geographically dispersed with a culture of collaborative working, virtually and in person.
Experience / Skills Required
- Experience leading business management activities within Environment Agency processes, policies, financial controls and governance frameworks.
- Development and delivery of business and/or resource plans.
- Corporate or programme reporting.
- Leading or contributing to spending review bid development and/or implementation.
- Financial forecasting, management and reporting.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, presenting complex information to different audiences including senior management.
- Excellent organisational skills, managing tight deadlines, balancing priorities, and maintaining high standards of accuracy.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with dispersed colleagues across a large organisation.
- Confidence in working independently and collaboratively as part of a dispersed team.
