Head of Strategic Operations – Based in Oakham

5D are pleased to be working with an innovative tech startup based in Oakham. As a result of their continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to assume the role of Head of Strategic Operations.
This pivotal position involves overseeing the organisation's long-term operational strategies, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, and driving sustainable growth. The successful candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a proven track record in strategic planning and operational excellence. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the organisation's future direction and optimise operational efficiencies across multiple departments.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and monitor organisational strategies to achieve long-term goals
- Lead cross-functional teams to ensure operational alignment with strategic objectives
- Analyse market trends and internal data to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and oversee their realisation across departments
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and high performance
- Collaborate with senior management to shape organisational policies and procedures
- Manage stakeholder relationships internally and externally to support strategic initiatives
- Oversee resource allocation, budgeting, and risk management related to strategic projects
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards
Experience
- Extensive management experience at a senior level within a complex organisation
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards shared goals
- Demonstrable success in developing and executing organisational strategies
- Strong analytical skills with the capacity to interpret data for informed decision‑making
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging diverse stakeholder groups
- Experience in change management programmes is highly desirable
- A recognised qualification in business administration, management, or related fields is preferred but not essential
