About the Client

We are working with a highly entrepreneurial investment firm focused on the UK and Northern Europe. The firm seeks to make a material impact on growth and profitability within its portfolio companies, typically acting as the first private equity investor in its businesses. With deep sector expertise across healthcare, the team offers significant operational and strategic experience and works closely in partnership with management teams to support long‑term value creation. The firm operates with a lean, dynamic, and entrepreneurial culture, providing broad exposure and responsibility from an early stage.

Job Summary

We are looking for an ambitious and driven deal originator to take ownership of sourcing activity and lead relationships with intermediaries, management teams, advisers, and wider industry participants. The role serves as a key point of contact for management teams and plays an important role in developing and managing the firm’s investment pipeline.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market mapping across target sectors
  • Track attractive companies, management teams, and industry themes
  • Support development of proprietary investment opportunities through direct outreach and relationship building
  • Build and maintain relationships with intermediaries, management teams, advisers, and wider industry participants
  • Assist investment teams with research, analysis, and diligence workstreams where appropriate
  • Help build and maintain best‑practice origination processes, databases, and CRM systems
  • Develop deep knowledge of investing, private equity, and the client’s target sectors over time

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, consulting, business development, research, or a related field
  • Strong organisational and analytical capability with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and ability to synthesise information clearly and succinctly
  • Natural curiosity with a proactive and commercially-minded approach
  • Strong work ethic, ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritise effectively
  • Demonstrable interest in investing, markets, and businesses beyond day‑to‑day professional responsibilities
  • Healthcare experience helpful but not essential
  • Financial analysis and transaction process familiarity beneficial but not essential
