Job Description Summary
Responsibility for and management of new business investments, refinances and exits for specific funds including ongoing portfolio management. Influence key stakeholders, deputise for senior colleagues and contribute to broader business development, planning and decision‑making. Providing investment action recommendation, investment research and insight capability, portfolio management, and risk control including due diligence completed, across designated area.
Responsibilities
- Manages and develops important customer relationships (mid‑tier companies, multinational corporates, etc.) with guidance from senior colleagues and/or manages an account team delivering day‑to‑day support operations.
- Manages important client relationships with guidance from senior colleagues or oversees relationship management with a group of more transactional clients and customers.
- Manages relationships with important internal customers and acts as their business partner, while taking guidance from senior colleagues.
- Roles at this level are typically experienced professionals and/or operational line managers who interpret and apply policy to achieve specified outputs or advise the wider business on application of policy.
- Personally meets customer needs related to standard products and services and/or supervises a team of customer advisors.
- Analyses and forecasts investment/market trends and developments by designing and developing non‑routine investment models, and/or manages specific assigned portfolios while assisting in the development of the investment policy.
- Sets short‑term objectives and helps manage the performance of direct reports by working within performance‑management systems.
- Analyses specified problems and issues to find the best technical and/or professional solutions.
- Delivers prescribed outcomes for area of responsibility by working within established strategic planning systems.
- Grows own capabilities by pursuing and investing in personal development opportunities and develops the capabilities of direct reports by working within existing development frameworks; provides specialised training or coaching in area of expertise to others throughout the organisation.
Certification & Regulatory
This role is considered certified under the Senior Manager and Certification Regime as either requiring mandatory qualifications or being deemed a role capable of providing ‘significant harm’ to customers. Successful candidates will be subject to enhanced levels of vetting and required to complete a fitness and propriety attestation on commencement. Colleagues in this role must complete an annual fitness and propriety attestation and will also be subject to additional routine criminal and credit checks. As a certified colleague, your details will be published on the FCA’s Financial Services Register.
This role has been identified as a client‑dealing function under SYSC 27.8.18R as defined in the FCA Handbook. The Person (“P”) performs the client‑dealing FCA certification function for a firm if: (1) P is carrying out any of the activities in the table in SYSC 27.8.19R; and (2) those activities involve P dealing with a person with or for whom those activities are carried out, or the property of any such person, in a manner substantially connected with the carrying on of regulated activities by the firm. If you manage certified colleagues, this role will be identified as Manager of certification employees under SYSC 27.8.13R as defined in the FCA Handbook.
