Job Description
The post holder will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the Children, Young People and Education Directorate’s transformation plan – Helping Families Thrive. This will include influencing strategic decision making, delivering on project milestones, assessing and mitigating corporate risk, and presenting progress to senior stakeholders.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering key projects within the transformation plan and will have accountability for the following:
- Project governance and project(s) delivery
- Savings targets
- Effective use of transformation investments
- Occasional ad hoc support for additional work
The post holder will work with the transformation team to ensure appropriate demand and growth management strategies are incorporated into the Children, Young People and Education improvement plan, and support the Council’s input into partnership work across health, social care and schools.

About You
- Degree level or equivalent qualification/experience.
- Knowledge of project management and improvement methodologies gained through extensive experience and development.
- Ability to work with high‑level internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in a children’s social care or education setting and up‑to‑date knowledge of main national policy drivers for children’s services.
- Experience of providing projects and workstreams within a dynamic and changing environment.
- Experience of programme and/or project management.
- Experience of modelling analysis and business case development, and experience of equality impact assessments.
- Change management and integration experience.
- Experience of service remodelling and transformation within children’s social care or education.
