About the Sales Academy
Ultimo’s Sales Academy is an 18‑24‑month programme that develops high‑potential people into confident Account Executives. You will receive a clear development framework, defined milestones, consistent coaching and a genuine promotion path from day one. The Academy has three phases:
- First six months – build core enterprise SaaS sales skills: research target accounts, initiate personalised conversations with senior decision‑makers, qualify opportunities, and master the tools that underpin professional outbound sales.
- Months six to twelve – focus on consistent delivery by taking on a full BDR quota, owning your pipeline and collaborating closely with Account Executives and Marketing.
- Month twelve onward – transition into closing by shadowing senior AEs, owning a mini‑territory, building business cases and managing opportunities through the pipeline. Strong performers are promoted to Junior AE at the eighteen‑month review.
Responsibilities
- Research and identify high‑potential target accounts across the UK & Ireland.
- Start smart, personalised conversations with senior decision‑makers via phone, email and LinkedIn.
- Qualify opportunities and surface genuine business problems that Ultimo addresses.
- Book high‑quality meetings and hand off well‑qualified opportunities to Account Executives.
- Maintain clean, accurate CRM data and contribute to pipeline reporting.
- Learn the full enterprise sales cycle through close collaboration with experienced AEs and the wider commercial team.
Qualifications
We hire for potential, mindset and commercial drive. The Academy is designed to meet you where you are and develop you from there. You should typically fit one of the following profiles:
- Recent graduates or final‑year students: Strong analytical instincts, excellent communication skills and curiosity about how businesses operate. Any degree is welcome; curiosity about technology is a plus.
- Professionals with 2–4 years of commercial experience: Experience in sales, customer success, retail or a commercial support role. Self‑driven, relationship‑oriented and interested in developing consultative selling skills.
- Career changers or returners: Solid professional experience in operations, logistics, project management or another field. Maturity, process thinking and real‑world business understanding are key.
Required skills:
- Strong English communication skills – written and verbal.
- Genuine curiosity about how businesses work and what technology can do for them.
- Confidence in picking up the phone and starting a conversation with a senior professional.
- Coachability and real drive – you want to be challenged and developed, not just told what to do.
