JOB DESCRIPTION
Business Manager
Part-time • Remote / Hybrid
The role
Redbay is growing, and we’re looking for someone who enjoys being at the centre of a growing business and shaping how it runs.
This role is for a natural organiser and problem solver. You’ll bring structure to a growing business, anticipate what needs doing, and make sure things stay on track as we scale. You’ll play a critical part in keeping the company running smoothly and helping the leadership team focus on delivery, clients and growth.
Financial literacy is important to us. You’ll be close to the numbers day to day, so we’re looking for someone confident with budgets, cashflow and basic financial reporting.
You don’t need to come from a “traditional” operations background. If you’re someone who gets satisfaction from organising people, processes and priorities, and you reliably get things over the line, we’d like to hear from you.
What you’ll be responsible for
As Business Manager, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day operational rhythm of the business. You’ll work closely with senior leadership, acting as the person who joins the dots and keeps everything moving.
This will include things like:
- Keeping the business organised across finance, people, suppliers and delivery support
- Making sure core admin, reporting and operational tasks happen on time and to a good standard
- Recruiting, tracking pipeline of talent, improving how we recruit, onboard and support our people as the team grows
- Spotting opportunities to work more efficiently and acting on them
- Putting simple, sensible processes in place so work scales without bureaucracy
- Helping leaders stay on top of priorities, decisions and follow-ups
- Coordinating external partners (accountants, advisors, suppliers) and keeping relationships running smoothly
- Supporting planning, reporting and preparation for key internal and external meetings
You will not be micromanaged. We are looking for someone who can own this space, make sensible decisions, and ask for input when it matters.
What we’re really looking for
Rather than a long list of requirements, we care about how you work.
You’re likely to be someone who:
- Is organised, reliable and takes pride in doing things properly
- Is financially literate and comfortable working with budgets, cashflow and management information
- Enjoys bringing order to complexity
- Can juggle multiple strands of work without losing sight of what matters
- Communicates clearly and comfortably with people at all levels
- Is discreet, trustworthy and comfortable handling sensitive information
- Is pragmatic, you aim for “works well” rather than “perfect on paper”
- Takes ownership and follows things through to completion
Experience in operations, project management, administration, business support, or similar roles will help, but it’s not essential if you can demonstrate the behaviours above.
Why this role is interesting
This is not a narrow admin role. You’ll have visibility across the whole business and real influence over how things are run. For someone who enjoys being trusted, making improvements, and seeing the impact of their work quickly, this role offers a lot of autonomy and variety.
We trust people to manage their own time. The role offers flexibility in how and when hours are worked, and we’re supportive of people balancing work with wider life and family commitments.
