Job description Staff Officer - Retained Finance FunctionLocation: Newforge Lane Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week Pay Rate: £ per hourAbout the RoleWe are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Staff Officer to join a busy finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with strong leadership skills and proven experience across Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day finance operations, supporting wider business functions, and managing a small team to ensure accurate and efficient financial processes.Key ResponsibilitiesManaging Accounts Receivable activities, with Accounts Payable cover as requiredSupervising junior managers and administrative staff, including attendance management and performance oversightCompleting daily banking duties, including downloading banking receipts and supplying posting informationManaging customer remittancesOverseeing the Sales Invoice process, including liaising with internal and external customers and preparing currency invoicesDebt management and credit control activitiesHandling customer and supplier queries via telephone and emailProducing month-end reporting, including sales ledger reconciliations and suspense account reviewsAssisting branches with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable process queriesManaging held supplier invoice notifications and releasing invoices for paymentProducing high-level financial reports for senior managementEssential CriteriaMinimum of 5 years' experience working within a finance teamMinimum of 2 years' experience managing an Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable functionProven experience managing staff and delivering outcomes against competing prioritiesStrong experience using computerised accounting systemsAdvanced working knowledge of Microsoft ExcelExcellent communication and organisational skillsAbility to work accurately in a fast-paced environmentDesirable SkillsPrevious supervisory or team leadership experience within a finance environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExperience working with multi-currency invoicing
