Deputy Workplace Manager (Technical) – Pontypridd, Wales

The Deputy Workplace Manager (Technical) will support the Workplace Manager by managing members of the Workplace team ensuring statutory compliance, overseeing planned and reactive maintenance activities and all documentation is adhered to and completed, to enable the organisation to carry out its core business across all its office locations.
Role responsibilities
- Be the main point of contact within the Workplace team to deal with all mechanical and Electrical (M&E) maintenance matters. Manage the maintenance of TfW’s office portfolio by ensuring an asset verification exercise is undertaken at all TfW office Locations and a fully comprehensive hard services maintenance schedule is adhered to.
- Ensure a proactive Planned and reactive maintenance service across all offices by leading and supervising members of the workplace team to support TfW’s accommodation needs and day to day workplace management operations.
- Manage and maintain records relating to statutory compliance, Planned and reactive Maintenance, accommodation and workplace management by overseeing the senior Workplace Co-ordinator, workplace co-ordinators and providing the necessary support, ensuring that all required documents are completed accurately to provide a clear audit trail.
- Oversee the Preventative Planned Maintenance (PPM) regime such as HVAC, Legionella, Fire Risk Assessments for the building by consulting the PPM planner to ensure all statutory and non-statutory maintenance tasks are completed, indexed and for all defects to be reported and followed up in a timely manner.
- Oversee contractors at the office locations and all works are undertaken following Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) and Permit to work Processes. (this will require an element of attendance out of normal working hours)
- Maintain own professional development and stay abreast of regulatory changes by researching areas of development and best practice to ensure best practice is applied to TfW.
- Oversee contractors at the office locations by liaising with and collating reports on performance and cost (e.g. Hard services contractors, maintenance workers) to ensure TfW achieves value for money and all works are undertaken following Risk Assessment and Method Statements ( RAMS) and Permit to work Processes. (this will require an element of attendance out of normal working hours.
Who we’re looking for
- Experienced with Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, SFG20, TM44, F Gas, legionella Risk assessments and maintenance, Fire risk assessments and maintenance.
- Demonstrable Hard service experience, working in a similar role ensuring all Building Planned Preventable Maintenance (PPM) is completed, and any remedials are completed in a timely manner and ensuring all statutory compliance is undertaken and documented.
- Demonstrable experience of management/supervising a team and management of Internal external 3rd party Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) contractors.
- Hold NEBOSH qualification(s) or be willing to undertake training (within 18 months)
- Experience of managing Hard services across multi-site locations and over a large geographical area.
