We are currently seeking to recruit up to 97 Parking Attendants to join our On Street Enforcement team within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability on a permanent basis.
NRS brings together a diverse range of Glasgow City Council operational, technical and development services that focus on sustainable transport, place making and delivering essential city services.
You will identify infringements to legislation/regulations whilst out on foot patrol, issuing penalty charge notices, authorise vehicle removals, maintain necessary records and deal with enquiries and complaints from members of the public. You will also report results of patrols to Senior Parking Attendants/Enforcement Supervisors, and where appropriate inform relevant agencies, such as Police Scotland.
What we’re looking for : You must enjoy working outdoors and be capable of walking long distances. It is essential that you possess basic literacy and keyboard skills, are familiar with smartphone use, and have the ability to complete paperwork/reports associated with parking appeals and Health & Safety incidents.
In this role you’ll get experience in foot patrols, enforcement of legislation, evidence collection and report writing, plus develop skills in de-escalating situations and dealing with the public. A 35-hour per week work pattern, involving shift working 5 days over 7 on a rota basis, including weekend working, between 7:30am and 10:30pm. The shift times currently in operation are as follows:
Monday – Friday: 7:30am – 3:15pm, 10:30am – 6:15pm, and 2:15pm – 10pm
Saturday: 8:15am – 4pm and 2:15pm – 10pm
Sunday & Public Holidays: 9:15am – 5pm
Whilst the position is advertised as full-time, and involves weekend and evening working, we welcome applications from candidates who may only be able to work part-time hours, or shifts on certain days/times, which can be discussed further if you are selected for interview.
An Annual leave entitlement which starts at 26 days per year, rising to 29 days after 5 years’ continuous service, plus an additional 12.5 Public Holidays per year.
