The successful candidate will work closely with Design and Static Stress teams to assess, validate, and justify repairs for in-service aircraft damage and major repair activities.The RoleThe F&DT Engineer will be responsible for performing fatigue and damage tolerance analysis and producing technical justifications for repair solutions. The role involves supporting both planned repair programmes and rapid turnaround repair activities while ensuring compliance with airworthiness and structural integrity requirements.The position offers exposure to complex aerospace engineering challenges and continued airworthiness processes within a fast-paced repair environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform Fatigue & Damage Tolerance analysis for metallic and composite aircraft structuresProduce technical dossiers, justification reports, and repair assessments using approved engineering methods and toolsetsWork closely with Design and Static Stress Engineers to develop optimum repair solutionsSupport major repair activities and complex structural investigationsProvide technical guidance to internal teams, offshore teams, and external suppliersLead or coordinate packages of repair analysis work when requiredContribute to the development and improvement of repair analysis methods and processesSupport inspection process development alongside NDT specialistsEnsure compliance with airworthiness regulations, engineering standards, and manufacturing capability requirementsSupport wider aircraft structure areas when required, including fuselage, empennage, and high-lift devicesRequired Experience & SkillsDegree qualified in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalentStrong aerospace Fatigue & Damage Tolerance engineering backgroundExperience performing F&DT analysis on aircraft structuresExperience using engineering methods and toolsets such as ISAMI and GISEHAbility to generate technical reports and engineering justificationsStrong understanding of metallic and composite aircraft structuresKnowledge of airworthiness regulations and continued airworthiness processesAbility to assess how repair designs impact aircraft structural integrity and fatigue performanceStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilityExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work effectively under pressure and deliver technically sound solutions within tight deadlinesIdeal CandidateThe successful candidate will be a pragmatic and technically capable aerospace structural analysis engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges within a collaborative team environment. xwzovoh They will be confident working across multidisciplinary teams and capable of making sound engineering decisions supported by strong technical rationale….
