We are hiring a Financial Controller to lead our finance function and support the companys continued expansion.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this role forms part of the Senior Management Team, with full responsibility for financial governance, reporting, compliance, and commercial support across the organisation.
This is a key position where you will play a leading role in driving performance, improving systems, and providing financial insight to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a team of 4 within the finance department
- Lead preparation and timely submission of the annual budget
- Oversee monthly Group management accounts
- Develop the 5-year business plan and financial models
- Continually review and improve internal financial controls
- Ensure technical and tax compliance with relevant stakeholders
- Lead the annual external audit process
- Manage cashflow, forecasting, and reporting
- Oversee R&D tax relief submissions
- Support tender submissions and commercial projects
- Lead development of ERP finance systems
- Build strong relationships with internal teams and senior management
- Liaise with external stakeholders (banks, auditors, insurance brokers etc.)
- Manage annual insurance renewals
- Provide financial support across the business
- Lead and deliver finance-related projects
Essential
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Experience in:
- Budget preparation
- Month-end accounts
- Cashflow management and forecasting
- Product costing
- Managing sales and purchase ledger functions
- Staff management and development
- Project management and implementation
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience using ERP systems
Desirable
- Degree in Finance or related discipline
- VAT knowledge
- Audit experience
- Manufacturing sector experience
- Experience leading and developing a finance team
- Strong Excel skills / Microsoft Office
- Microsoft Business Central experience
- Presentation and training skills
