Our leading Manufactureing client in the Dungannon area are seeking aDesign Engineerto join their growing team.

Due to continued expansion, the company is seeking an experienced and motivated engineer to support the design and development of innovative equipment solutions.


Design Engineer

Location: Dungannon Area
Hours of work: Monday Thursday: 7:45am 5:00pm | Friday: 7:45am 12:30pm


The Role

The successful candidate will be involved in the design and development of new products and modifications to existing equipment, delivering tailored engineering solutions to meet customer and site-specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop engineered solutions for new and existing products
  • Produce plant-based solutions tailored to customer requirements
  • Apply engineering best practices including design-for-manufacture, FMEA, prototype development, and testing
  • Ensure products meet required safety, functionality, and reliability standards
  • Work closely with production, purchasing, and suppliers to improve design efficiency and reduce manufacturing costs
  • Investigate and resolve customer technical issues and complaints
  • Keep up to date with industry trends, component advancements, and emerging technologies

Criteria

  • Degree qualified in Engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • Previous experience within a design engineering role
  • Strong 3D CAD experience, ideally using Creo or similar software
  • Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems
  • Knowledge of sheet metal and structural design
  • Understanding of mechanical systems with working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
