Overview

Clark Wood is recruiting for a VAT Senior Manager or Director to lead advisory services and expand the Indirect Tax practice in Manchester. The role focuses on high‑level advisory for a portfolio of owner‑managed businesses, SMEs and entrepreneurial clients across sectors such as property and construction, manufacturing, consumer goods, natural resources, professional partnerships, and financial services.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical VAT advice and support to clients, including accountants and professional partners, through verbal and written communication.
• Apply complex, specialist technical advice to deliver innovative, value‑adding solutions.
• Lead delivery of VAT services within specific sectors aligned with the senior manager’s expertise.
• Engage in marketing and business development activities, including client alerts, thought‑leadership content, and speaking at events and webinars.

Qualifications

• Qualified VAT professional (CTA or equivalent) with experience at the Senior Manager, Associate Director or Director level.
• Demonstrated potential to further develop the VAT & Indirect Tax offering.
• Strong advisory and technical expertise in VAT and indirect taxes.
