About The Role

Days of Working: Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm. Reporting to the Sector Sales Director, Public Sector FM (PUFM), you will be responsible for developing and implementing a programme of activity to build senior‑level relationships with current and potential public‑sector customers, while leading and converting sales opportunities that arise.

Roles and Responsibilities

Tenders, Costing and New Business Opportunities

New Business Opportunities

  • Own and achieve/exceed your personal annual sales targets within the hard services division
  • Source, lead and manage UK new business development opportunities within the public sector
  • Ensure development of sustainable pipeline, quality of work and key accountable measures are achieved across all areas of an opportunity
  • Build and maintain strong, long‑lasting customer relationships
  • Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives, captured in Deal Plans to effectively convert into profitable sales for the division
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition through meetings, proposals and presentations
  • Manage commercial and contractual negotiations with the customer, in conjunction with internal commercial and legal departments
  • Effectively hand over new business won to operational mobilisation teams
  • Build and maintain accurate and key information as part of the deal capture process and record within the Deal Plan
  • Ensure that all information recorded within Salesforce.com is always fully up to date and compliant

Tender, commercial and contractual management

  • Design complex win strategies, themes and solutions with operations, subject matter experts and bid teams for tenders and sales projects
  • Manage/ensure all commercial and contractual processes are followed in line with group requirements
  • Provide insight into customer requirements through use of the N.O.S.E and Win Themes during deal planning to drive operational solutioning sessions and own the commercial offer
  • Oversee, prepare and assist in the writing of PQQ / RFI / tender responses in conjunction with client solutions bid management function
  • Facilitate sign‑off for tender and commercial documents through preparation of divisional and board sign‑off packs

Bid, Commercial & Legal

  • Collaborate with legal, bid and pricing functions to promote productivity

Tele‑Marketing

  • Liaise with the tele‑marketing team to identify key prospects and provide targeted lists for your identified sectors

Internal SME/Functions

  • Collaborate with leads, stakeholders and operational teams of relevant divisions and functions required in the business development process

Marketing

  • Work alongside marketing to identify target customers and go‑to‑market propositions
  • Assist in the development of marketing campaigns for your designated sector(s)

Skills & Experience

  • Subject‑matter and commercial knowledge across all aspects of OCS’s FM offer with the support of functional subject‑matter experts, sales colleagues and operations team to learn and develop service understanding
  • Experience managing and participating in project teams that work, adopting project management disciplines
  • Proven experience delivering strong consistent win ratios against target
  • Highly numerate with the ability to understand commercial negotiations
  • Commercial thinker with ability to understand and guide commercial negotiations
  • In‑depth experience devising complex FM solutions for a variety of public‑sector types
  • Good interpersonal skills, influence and impact, working with others
  • Strong quality orientation and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Influential and persuasive communicator, with a high standard of written and verbal communication skills
  • Clear and strategic thinker, able to offer new and innovative solutions
  • Excellent people‑management and interpersonal skills
