Leading main contractor seeks an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of a landmark £100m high‑rise residential development in the heart of Birmingham. This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of a major city‑centre scheme from construction through to completion, working with an established contractor known for delivering complex residential and mixed‑use projects across the UK.
The Role
As Project Director, you will be responsible for overall leadership, strategic delivery, and successful execution of this flagship development. You will oversee all operational, commercial, and programme aspects of the project while managing senior site teams and key stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of a £100m high‑rise residential scheme
- Manage project teams including Construction Managers, Project Managers, and commercial staff
- Ensure programme, quality, health & safety, and commercial objectives are achieved
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
- Drive performance across all phases of the build lifecycle
- Provide leadership and direction to ensure successful project outcomes
- Report directly to senior board‑level stakeholders
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering large‑scale high‑rise residential developments for a main contractor
- Strong track record managing projects valued at £50m+
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Extensive knowledge of construction delivery, programme management, and commercial awareness
- Stable career history within reputable main contractors
- Experience overseeing complex city‑centre developments is highly desirable
