Overview
Lead, mentor and develop a supply chain department comprising procurement, warehousing and shipping teams to ensure strategic purchasing, on‑time delivery and clear organisation of all components needed for manufacturing and R&D activities.
Own the end‑to‑end supply chain across raw materials, packaging, production, warehousing and distribution. Oversee task allocation, provide training, monitor progress of all supply chain functions and develop procurement strategies that enhance cost efficiency, quality and operational effectiveness.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimise cost, quality and operational effectiveness.
- Establish purchasing schedules and inventory plans to prevent stockouts and maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Identify and implement cost‐saving initiatives, ensuring materials are sourced within budget and aligned with production schedules.
- Onboard new and develop existing supplier relationships to mitigate risk and build supply chain resilience.
- Collaborate closely with Project Management, Production, Engineering, Commercial and Finance to align purchasing with business objectives.
- Manage supplier relationships, secure competitive pricing and serve as the key liaison for purchasing, distribution and supply chain matters.
- Lead and support Senior Business Reviews with strategic suppliers, including occasional travel to supplier sites.
- Provide regular weekly reports to the Senior Leadership Team.

Desired Skills and Experience
- Experience managing strategic supplier relationships
- Knowledge of export control environments such as EAR, SIELs and OGELs
- Experience setting supply chain strategies for short, medium and long‑term ambitions
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, including the full component life cycle from purchase request to customer shipment
- Ability to compile data, analyse and propose recommendations through reports and presentations
- Experience in behavioural and performance management of multiple employees
Qualifications
Either hold or be working towards MCIPS or a similar professional qualification, or hold a degree in a business‑related subject (e.g. Economics, Business, Finance).
