Role

As Project Director, you'll take full accountability for the successful delivery of a portfolio of complex projects, ensuring alignment with wider business strategy while driving performance, governance, and customer outcomes.

  • Lead and oversee multiple concurrent, high-value programmes within a complex telecoms environment
  • Define and implement project governance frameworks, ensuring consistency, control, and scalability
  • Own commercial performance, ensuring projects deliver against financial targets and business objectives
  • Engage at C‑suite and senior stakeholder level, acting as a trusted advisor and escalation point
  • Drive risk management strategy across the portfolio, proactively mitigating delivery challenges
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers and delivery teams, embedding best practice
  • Support pre‑sales and bid activity, contributing to winning new business opportunities
  • Ensure seamless transition into operations, with clear handover, documentation, and service integration

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a senior delivery leader who combines technical project expertise with strong commercial and strategic capability.

Key experience includes:

  • 12+ years' experience within project / programme management in telecommunications
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale, complex programmes or portfolios
  • Strong experience managing multi‑vendor / service integration environments (SIAM preferred)
  • Deep understanding of project financials, budgeting, and commercial delivery
  • Experience working across Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models
  • Ability to operate effectively in highly complex stakeholder environments

Qualifications

  • Degree educated (or equivalent experience)
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile (Scrum / PMI-ACP)
  • Programme / Portfolio certifications highly advantageous
