We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer (Civils) based in Finham (Coventry).

Responsibilities

  • Sewage treatment assets – analysing existing assets, completing risk assessments and designing new assets to meet business needs and long‑term investigations.
  • Develop strategies to enhance existing assets and support regulatory submissions, contributing to the river quality, sustainability and net‑zero carbon plans.
  • Research emerging technologies to define innovative treatment options and collaborate internally and externally on new strategies.
  • Promote the waste treatment capital maintenance programme by ensuring robust, evidence‑based understanding of site performance to maintain final effluent quality.
  • Provide tactical support and advice to operational teams, maintaining availability and quality of waste treatment services.
  • Embed Health and Safety throughout the design lifecycle.
  • Identify and review delivery and operational risks (Health and Safety, environmental, commissioning) during the design process.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified (desirable) with professional commitment as a member of an Engineering Institution, or actively working towards incorporated or chartered status.
  • Experience in the water or waste treatment industry is advantageous, though an engineering discipline is required.
  • Excellent internal and external stakeholder management, building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Forward‑thinking, capable of anticipating challenges and responding to change in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Full UK driving licence.
