We are seeking our first in‑house Legal Counsel to establish and lead the legal function.

Role Overview

This is a rare opportunity to build the legal and commercial backbone of a pioneering biomethane business. You will work directly with senior leadership, report to the CEO, influence strategic decisions, manage a broad portfolio of legal responsibilities central to the company’s growth, and help shape the UK’s transition to low‑carbon energy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Development & Construction – Lead negotiation of EPC and O&M contracts.
  • Commercial, Feedstock & Offtake Arrangements.
  • Project Finance, Debt, and Equity Transactions – Advise on corporate structuring, joint ventures, and acquisitions/disposals of project SPVs.
  • Regulatory & Compliance – Ensure compliance with UK and devolved energy, environmental, and gas network regulations, including Ofgem and GGSS requirements.
  • Legal Function Development – Manage external counsel relationships efficiently and cost‑effectively.
