Head of Technical
Location: Gloucester / Cheltenham / Bristol (Commutable) – Full time, Site based.
The Role
- Lead the site Technical function, acting as the senior authority on food safety, legality and quality.
- Own and maintain HACCP, food safety systems, risk assessments and specifications.
- Lead and host BRC and customer audits, ensuring the site remains audit ready at all times.
- Drive continuous improvement in quality performance and food safety culture.
- Work closely with Operations to balance technical rigour with practical manufacturing realities.
- Lead, develop and set standards for the Technical and Hygiene teams.
About You
- Proven experience in a Head of Technical, Technical Manager or senior Technical role within food manufacturing.
- Strong working knowledge of BRC standards, HACCP and food safety systems.
- Confident leading audits and acting as the senior technical decision‑maker on site.
- Hands‑on, visible leadership style with strong people management skills.
- Pragmatic and solutions‑focused, comfortable in a fast‑paced production environment.
