Role summary

The Head of Commercial Finance will act as the primary finance partner to Sales, Marketing, Customer Success and Product leadership. The role owns the commercial P&L, revenue forecasting and pipeline analysis, and plays a central role in board reporting, investor engagement, and PE value creation initiatives.

This is a hands‑on, delivery‑focused role combining operational depth with strategic exposure. The mandate includes building scalable commercial finance capability, improving forecast accuracy, and driving insight that directly influences commercial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as lead finance partner to commercial leadership across Sales, Marketing and Customer Success
  • Own the commercial P&L, revenue bridge and variance analysis, clearly articulating performance drivers
  • Lead bottom‑up revenue forecasting, pipeline conversion analysis and reforecasting cycles
  • Drive annual budgeting for commercial functions and build scenario models for pricing, headcount and go‑to‑market decisions
  • Design and own commercial KPIs including ARR, NRR, churn, CAC, LTV, payback and unit economics
  • Deliver monthly commercial performance packs to Executive Leadership and the Board
  • Develop automated and self‑serve reporting to improve insight quality and reduce manual effort
  • Support the CFO on investor reporting, board packs and PE value creation tracking
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives including M&A screening, commercial due diligence and integration planning
  • Build and maintain long‑range plans and the commercial equity story
  • Lead and develop a small commercial finance team, balancing BAU reporting with value‑add analysis

To Be Suitable

  • Proven experience in commercial finance, FP&A, transaction advisory, investment banking or corporate development
  • Strong track record partnering with Sales, Marketing or other commercial leadership teams
  • Deep understanding of SaaS or subscription economics and metrics
  • Advanced financial modelling and Excel capability, with experience building models from first principles
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate analysis into clear, actionable insight
  • Comfortable operating autonomously in a fast‑paced, PE‑backed environment
  • Structured, outcome‑focused mindset with a bias towards delivery and value creation
