Role Overview

The Subsea and Intervention teams deliver critical tooling and systems that support safe, reliable, and efficient offshore operations throughout the asset lifecycle. The Life of Field (LoF) organization plays a key role in ensuring consistency, quality, and scalability across intervention tooling design activities.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all design activities comply with Baker Hughes design standards, work instructions, and best practices.
  • Improving consistency, quality, and repeatability of design outputs across LoF and Intervention support activities.
  • Acting as a senior CAD authority, setting expectations for modelling discipline, design structure, and documentation quality.
  • Leading Model‑Based Design activities for new‑build OWIRS systems from concept through detailed engineering.
  • Aligning designs with Baker Hughes design, manufacturing, and quality processes.
  • Embedding modularity and configurability into new‑build designs, ensuring standard interfaces, tolerances, and module interchangeability.
  • Supporting the development and maturation of standardized design "building blocks" to enable scalable modular solutions.
  • Providing CAD leadership for commercial tenders, including rapid turnaround of GA drawings, schematics, and system‑level configurations.
  • Releasing detailed engineering drawings for project‑specific adapters, TRTs, spools, and interfaces in line with client requirements.
  • Supporting vessel integration activities for Integrated Solutions projects, including deck layouts, tower and cursor system integration, and interface alignment between vessel, tower, and OWIRS equipment.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience as a CAD Designer / Draughtsperson in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong background in conceptual engineering through detailed design.
  • Hands‑on experience with Baker Hughes VGS tools and drawing standards.
  • Proven experience in configuration management and controlled design environments.
  • Conscientious, flexible, versatile, and determined.
  • Assertive and positive communication within technical and cross‑functional environments.
  • Ability to work effectively within global teams and adapt to changing work demands.
  • Experience supporting offshore, vessel‑based, or intervention systems (nice to have).
  • Understanding of manufacturing practices and design for manufacturability principles (nice to have).
