We’re working with a well-established and growing environmental and planning consultancy that is delivering projects across a range of sectors including renewable energy, EV infrastructure, waste & circular economy, and residential/commercial development.

With a strong pipeline of work and a supportive senior team, this is a great opportunity for a Graduate Planner looking to kick‑start their career in a commercially focused consultancy environment.

The Role

As a Graduate Planning Consultant, you’ll support senior planners in delivering practical planning advice across both pre-application and post-application stages.

You’ll gain exposure to a wide variety of projects while developing your technical and commercial understanding of the planning process.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting delivery of planning advice to clients
  • Assisting with pre‑application appraisals and planning strategies
  • Preparing planning statements and supporting documentation
  • Contributing to a variety of projects across multiple sectors
  • Undertaking research, policy analysis and report writing
  • Supporting planning applications and condition discharge submissions
  • Assisting with project coordination and administrative tasks
  • Attending site visits and supporting appraisal work
  • Communicating with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Attending CPD events and continuing professional development

What We’re Looking For

  • RTPI accredited undergraduate or postgraduate qualification
  • 1–2 years’ experience in a consultancy or local authority (ideal but not essential)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in a variety of development sectors
  • Keen to learn, develop and build a long‑term career in planning
