About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Site Manager to oversee a hotel refurbishment project in Edinburgh on a 12‑week contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing subcontractors and labour on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme within a partly live environment.
This role requires someone with strong health & safety awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain a professional client‑facing approach throughout the duration of the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day site operations on a live hotel refurbishment project
- Manage subcontractors and site labour to ensure works are completed safely and efficiently
- Monitor programme and progress to ensure project deadlines are achieved
- Maintain high standards of health & safety across site at all times
- Coordinate trades and manage site logistics within a partly occupied environment
- Conduct regular site inspections and toolbox talks
- Liaise directly with clients, consultants, and senior management
- Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout all phases of the project
- Manage site documentation including RAMS, permits, and progress reports
- Identify and resolve any on‑site issues proactively to minimise delays
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Site Manager on fit‑out or refurbishment projects
- Hotel refurbishment experience preferred
- Experience working within live or partly live environments
- Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations and site compliance
- Excellent communication and client‑facing skills
- Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multiple trades
- SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certification essential
- Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities
- Available to start immediately or at short notice
