The Role & The Work

This is a chance for a Private Client Solicitor to join a forward-thinking and highly respected, L500 ranked Private Client team in Edinburgh.

From day one, you will be immersed in a broad and high-quality workload, developing a well-rounded and future-proof skillset. Your work will include drafting bespoke Wills, advising on executries, including complex, high-value and tax-paying estates and delivering strategic succession and tax planning advice.

In a world where wealth structures, family dynamics and tax landscapes are becoming increasingly complex, this team is at the forefront of advising clients with clarity, precision and commercial awareness. You will support individuals, families and business owners in protecting, structuring and transitioning wealth across generations.

You will also gain exposure to sophisticated trust structures, asset protection strategies and technical tax matters, including Inheritance Tax planning and reliefs such as APR and BPR. Alongside this, you will be involved in Powers of Attorney, Guardianships and, increasingly, more complex and contentious executry and trust matters.

The team operates in a genuinely collaborative environment, where junior lawyers are trusted early, supported closely and given meaningful responsibility. Working closely with leading Partners, with strong internal knowledge resources, you will always be empowered to accelerate your development while maintaining high standards of client care.

Your Experience

• Private Client Solicitor (NQ-2 PQE) or Trainee Solicitor with extensive Private Client experience
• Strong passion and demonstrable interest in Private Client
• Ability to manage a varied caseload with appropriate supervision
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Confident communicator with a client-centric approach
• Commercial awareness and interest in the wider private wealth landscape
• Collaborative mindset with ambition to develop and progress
• Interest in business development and building long-term client relationships
