Senior Consultant - Project Manager (London)
As the world's leading change and transformation consultancy, we are supporting businesses in moving from strategy to reality. We are looking for a Senior Consultant – Project Manager to support a digital and technology transformation initiative. This role will drive PMO coordination, workplan execution, governance, and delivery oversight across the programme. The ideal candidate will have emerging management consulting experience and at least 3 years of project management experience.
This is initially a 12‑month inside IR35 PAYE Umbrella contract requiring onsite work in London 2‑3 days per week.
Summary
The successful candidate will support the engagement lead by coordinating core PMO and project delivery activities across workstreams, owning structured planning, governance, reporting, RAID management, stakeholder coordination, and follow‑up actions to keep the programme on track.
You Will
- Drive day‑to‑day project management activities, including detailed workplan development, milestone tracking, status reporting, and coordination across workstreams to ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate governance forums, project meetings, and stakeholder working sessions; capture decisions, actions, risks, and dependencies, and ensure timely follow‑up across teams.
- Manage project plans, RAID logs, and delivery reporting, proactively identifying issues, escalating risks, and supporting mitigation planning to keep the engagement on track.
- Monitor project delivery against plan, highlighting schedule impacts, interdependencies, blockers, and risks, and supporting resolution to maintain programme momentum.
- Develop client‑ready materials including status updates, steering committee packs, meeting outputs, and executive summaries that clearly communicate progress, issues, and decisions.
- Support delivery planning and PMO controls, including tracking milestones, maintaining action logs, coordinating cross‑functional inputs, and helping ensure readiness for key programme checkpoints.
Ideal Qualifications
- 3–5 years’ experience in project management or PMO delivery, with prior management consulting experience and a track record of supporting complex transformation programmes.
- Strong project management capability, including workplan management, governance, risk and issue management, stakeholder coordination, and delivery reporting in fast‑paced environments.
- Agile methodology experience.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required, with an understanding of pharma operating environments, cross‑functional delivery, and regulatory considerations.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage detail, maintain accurate project documentation, and produce clear, executive‑ready reporting.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build credibility quickly and work effectively with senior leaders, client teams, and cross‑functional delivery partners.
