NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) employs around 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions, delivering acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care to >1.15 million residents and a wider population of 2.2 million.
Shift pattern: full time.
Type: Fixed term post (duration to be confirmed).
Contract: 10 Programmed Activity (PA) contract. Clinical responsibilities shared between cardiac and general theatres on an 8:2 DCC:SPA basis.
On‑call commitment: 1:5 covering paediatric cardiac surgical and cardiology emergencies on the RHC site. Position initially offered as sabbatical cover with a review for potential extension.
The successful candidate will work alongside three Consultant Paediatric Cardiac Anaesthetists and be expected to contribute flexibly to anaesthetic services in the general theatres according to service requirements.
The Paediatric Cardiac Service is in a period of development with plans to expand the number of operating surgeons on the RHC site from two to three.
