Interim Director of Data – Ecommerce / Retail (London)

Contract Length: 6 months (likely to extend), Outside IR35.

A fast‑growing global e‑commerce and retail brand is seeking a strategic, hands‑on Director of Data to build and lead a centralised data function during a major growth phase. This senior leadership role focuses on creating a scalable, single source of truth across the business, supporting decision‑making across Finance, CRM, Trading, Retail, and Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Rebuilding Power BI reporting frameworks from the ground up
• Establishing governance, validation, and auditability standards
• Building omnichannel reporting across e‑commerce, retail, and logistics
• Scaling the internal data capability over time

Ideal candidates

• 8–12+ years in data/BI leadership
• Strong Power BI and data architecture expertise
• E‑commerce experience (Shopify preferred)
• Omnichannel retail analytics experience
• A highly structured, ownership‑driven mindset
