Role Summary
Senior Technical Project Manager – contract basis, London. Working hours align with USA: 11am to 7pm BST.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build relationships with VML technical specialists.
- Coordinate 3rd party product vendors, environments & client technical resources.
- Oversee delivery of new infrastructure environments.
- Apply Agile frameworks (Scrum & Kanban).
- Lead technical teams, inspire and achieve objectives.
- Run sprint ceremonies – stand‑ups, sprint planning, estimation, showcases and retrospectives.
- Facilitate smooth work flow, remove obstacles, drive continuous improvement.
- Understand the software development life cycle and release management.
- Participate in release planning and execution.
- Build customer confidence by understanding needs and delivering first‑class solutions.
- Set and manage client expectations.
- Identify and mitigate issues and risks.
- Detect technical debt & recommend enhancements.
- Provide status reporting on milestones, dependencies, risks and issues to stakeholders.
- Report on technical deliverables, architecture and pipeline improvements.
What We Want From You
- Project Management experience, preferably ecommerce/retail.
- Technical understanding for log analysis and issue detection.
- Experience with eCommerce frameworks and hosting solutions.
- Knowledge of cloud/on‑prem infrastructure.
- Ability to manage expectations within strict deadlines.
- Full knowledge of project life cycle & methodologies (Agile, Incremental, Waterfall).
- Familiarity with legacy systems integration.
- Experience with code‑management tools (git, Bitbucket, SVN).
- Interest in Jenkins, Git or other release pipeline tools.
- Ability to manage multiple third parties.
- Strong time‑management & organisational skills.
- Negotiation skills & ability to handle sensitive issues.
- Relevant Project Management qualifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English.
If You Have This, Even Better
- Experience with Magento eCommerce platform.
- Developer background or programming qualification.
- Knowledge of Azure & AWS DevOps tooling.
- BA/BS degree in information management, marketing, communications, business or related field.
