Responsibilities
- Document, review, and execute EMEA DCM transactions, including investment grade, high yield and emerging markets bond issues, hybrid capital, covered bonds, and liability management.
- Support business groups across EMEA and other global offices that originate transactions through structuring, execution, review, and negotiation of legal documents, providing legal advice and guidance on risk assessment and solutions.
- Liaise with business teams, risk and control areas, and Legal colleagues to set and maintain documentation standards, internal policies, practice guidelines, and monitor relevant legal, regulatory and documentation developments.
- Share experience and know‑how with Legal colleagues globally, and provide training to the business and within Legal.
- Participate in Legal and firm‑wide projects.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and execution skills; results‑driven.
- Ability to think laterally to identify and assess wider risks for the firm and proactively work with the business and other control functions to find solutions.
- Ability to cope with a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Capability to work both independently and as a team player, proactively, and multi‑task.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Keen interest in transactional, legal regulatory work.
- Solid debt capital markets experience at a law firm or an in‑house legal team at an investment bank.
- Licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in the state/jurisdiction where the position is based or otherwise in compliance with in‑house counsel registration rules.
Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities
- Foreign language proficiency is an advantage but not a necessity.
