About the Role
We’re looking for a talented Data Scientist to join our growing team in Newcastle on a part-time basis (3 days per week). This is an exciting opportunity to work on real-world data challenges, influence decision-making, and help shape data-driven strategy across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse large and complex datasets to uncover trends, insights, and opportunities
- Build, validate, and deploy predictive and statistical models
- Work closely with stakeholders to translate business questions into data solutions
- Develop dashboards, reports, and visualisations to communicate findings clearly
- Maintain and improve data pipelines and workflowsContribute to best practices in data science and analytics
Requirements
- Strong degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related quantitative field
- Proven experience with Python or R for data analysis and modelling
- Solid knowledge of statistical methods and machine learning techniques
- Experience with SQL and working with large datasets
- Ability to communicate complex insights to non-technical audiences
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
- Experience deploying models into production environments
