The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to oversee a range of construction projects across the Highlands and Moray. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering projects across commercial, residential, and public sector developments.

As Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

You will play a key role in coordinating all site activities, acting as the main point of contact on site, and ensuring effective communication between subcontractors, clients, and the wider project team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage site operations from pre-construction through to handover
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee subcontractors, trades, and direct labour
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation, carrying out inductions, toolbox talks, and site inspections
  • Monitor progress against programme and proactively address any delays or issues
  • Coordinate materials, plant, and logistics to maintain workflow
  • Maintain accurate site records including RAMS, ITPs, site diaries, and progress reports
  • Lead and attend site meetings, providing updates to clients and senior management
  • Ensure works are completed to required quality standards and specifications
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, architects, and engineers to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Support commercial teams with variations, valuations, and cost control where required

About You

  • Proven experience working as a Site Manager within the construction industry
  • Strong track record delivering new build and/or refurbishment projects
  • Experience managing projects within sectors such as education, healthcare, commercial, or residential
  • Excellent understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and site logistics
  • Confident managing multiple trades and subcontractors on site
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach with attention to detail

Qualifications & Certifications

  • SMSTS (essential)
  • CSCS Card – Black or Gold (preferred)
  • First Aid (essential)
  • Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor (desirable)
  • Asbestos Awareness (desirable)
