Battery Energy Storage Engineer

Salary: £32,682 – £38,300 (DOE)

Location: Bristol

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Battery Energy Storage Engineer to support the Rental team with the logistics, build, commissioning and operation of a growing hybrid fleet.

You’ll be the link between depot teams and customer sites — ensuring systems are set up correctly, supporting engineers, delivering training and keeping equipment performing safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Do

  • Work closely with sales and rental teams to ensure correct specification and use of equipment.
  • Provide 2nd-line technical support to customers.
  • Attend project kick-off meetings and support with equipment specification.
  • Manage resources for the maintenance and upkeep of hybrid assets.
  • Take a hands‑on approach installing systems and developing engineers’ skills.
  • Support depot teams with storage, maintenance and best practices.
  • Help allocate hire plant to meet customer requirements.
  • Monitor installations and provide feedback on performance.
  • Report lost/damaged equipment with appropriate documentation.
  • Promote excellent health & safety and comply with ISO standards.

Essential

  • Knowledge of the generator/plant hire market.
  • Proven BESS / hybrid / energy storage experience.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel and occasionally stay overnight.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Customer‑focused approach with strong relationship‑building skills.
  • Understanding of electrical installations and load management.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office or similar.
