Your role in the team

As a Guidewire Product Engineer at Allstate, you will design, build, and enhance enterprise insurance applications using Guidewire platforms (ClaimCenter, PolicyCenter, or BillingCenter). You’ll work in XP‑driven agile teams, practicing pair programming, test‑driven development, and continuous delivery to deliver high‑quality digital solutions. The role involves hands‑on configuration and Gosu development, supporting integrations, contributing to product design decisions, and ensuring robust, scalable systems that meet customer and business needs within a regulated insurance environment.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Practice daily paired programming and test‑driven development in writing software and building products.
  • Establish continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment pipelines and practices.
  • Participate in retrospectives to gather feedback and derive actionable items to improve the team and the product.
  • Collaborate within the team in designing systems and apps.
  • Provide support for software products in user environments.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing, and contribute to the overall growth of the collective knowledge of the team.
  • Participate in iteration planning meetings ensuring that the team has a common understanding of each story and chores in a team’s backlog.
  • Participate in daily site, cross‑site, and product team stand‑ups.

Requirements

  • Legal right to work in the UK (no sponsorship provided).
  • A minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience delivering solutions on Guidewire ClaimCenter (preferred), PolicyCenter, or BillingCenter including configuration, Gosu development, product model changes, and integration support.
  • At least one active Guidewire certification, e.g., Guidewire Certified Associate / Specialist ClaimCenter (preferred), PolicyCenter, or BillingCenter; Guidewire Certified Professional – Integration or Configuration.
  • Experience using Gen AI.
  • Experience with Personal Lines Insurance line of business.
  • Experience in Agile, with XP preferred and comfortable with pair programming.
  • Experience with Agility (or Version 1).

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role does not have supervisory duties.
