Cdm Consultant Principal Designer

A construction consultancy is looking for a Senior Health and Safety Consultant in a hybrid corporate office near Manchester.

Role

The successful candidate will deliver H&S consultancy/CDM coordination, advisory services and related projects to commercial, public and infrastructure clients, managing day‑to‑day workload and deliverables.

Objectives

• Provide clients with high‑level H&S consultancy services, reporting, presentations and management information.
• Advise and support clients on CDM regulations, including planned 2015 amendments.
• Deliver CDM coordination services and other CDM/H&S related projects.
• Deliver health and safety training, workshops and awareness sessions to clients, project teams and internal audiences.
• Undertake H&S audits of clients and their supply chains' safety management systems, providing evidence of successful implementation.
• Assist in developing further H&S or CDM opportunities through technical articles, speaking opportunities and bid support.
• Provide occasional support to other offices in the UK or Ireland.
• Engage in occasional international projects.

Skills & Qualifications

Minimum five years of experience delivering practical health and safety solutions as an in‑house H&S advisor or consultant. Degree qualified (or equivalent) in H&S, design, engineering, property or related discipline, with a NEBOSH certificate minimum, preferably NEBOSH Diploma, and CMIOSH/IMaPS or actively working towards it. Experience in business development and leading small teams. Excellent written and verbal communication, confident in client‑facing presentations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Energetic, self‑motivated and self‑reliant.
