Role Overview
The Wellcome Trust is seeking a Finance Global Process Owner to lead the continuous improvement of finance and procurement processes, data and systems, including Oracle Fusion, Salesforce, Workday and Docusign. The role is based in Euston Road and involves supporting the Trust’s strategic goals through process optimisation, standardisation, automation and digital enablement.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and govern end‑to‑end global finance processes (e.g. P2P, R2R) and the associated data stewardship, standards and cross‑functional change management.
- Drive continuous improvement via a multi‑year roadmap focused on optimisation, standardisation, automation and measurable KPIs.
- Partner with stakeholders to identify improvements, enhance customer journeys and deliver business impact.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, regulation and audit requirements, working closely with risk, audit, SMEs and technology teams.
- Lead ERP (Oracle Fusion) and digital enablement, maximizing system value, advancing automation and integrating AI and analytics.
- Build and lead teams, embed change, and support Wellcome’s strategy, governance and mission while strengthening data, reporting, leadership and culture.
Required Skills and Experience
- Significant experience operating at Finance Leadership Team level, shaping finance operating models and system roadmaps in complex, enterprise‑scale environments.
- Proven track record of delivering end‑to‑end finance transformation, including ERP‑enabled change and post‑implementation optimisation with clear, measurable benefits.
- Deep expertise in ERP systems, ideally Oracle Fusion, and the ability to leverage automation, AI and advanced analytics to drive efficiency and process excellence.
- Comprehensive knowledge of core finance processes, internal controls and best‑practice financial operations with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across finance, technology and wider business teams.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, including defining strategic roadmaps, mentoring high‑performing teams and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Minimum Criteria
- Extensive leadership experience at Finance Leadership Team level with a proven track record of delivering end‑to‑end finance transformation and ERP‑enabled change.
- Strong expertise in ERP systems (ideally Oracle Fusion) coupled with a talent for automation, AI and analytics to achieve measurable process excellence.
- Deep knowledge of finance processes, controls and best practices with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights.
- Proven ability to define and execute strategic roadmaps, influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex ideas clearly while building and mentoring high‑performing teams.
Employment Details
Contract type: Permanent. Interview date: 1st stage (w/c 25 May 2026) – face to face.
Working Hours
Hybrid way of working. Three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) from our Euston Road offices, with the remaining two days either remote or in the office.
