About the Role

Staffline Recruitment Ireland are currently recruiting Residential Care Workers to join an innovative children's residential service in the Dromore area.

This service provides therapeutic, person-centred care for young people aged 12-18 who may have experienced trauma and present with challenging behaviours. The aim is to support them in a safe, structured environment and help them transition to more independent living.

This is a rewarding but challenging role, requiring resilience, empathy, and a genuine passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.



Key Responsibilities

  • Support young people using trauma-informed and person-centred approaches
  • Build positive, trusting relationships and promote emotional well-being
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Manage and respond to challenging behaviours (verbal and physical)
  • Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and daily record keeping
  • Apply safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Liaise with social services, health professionals, and community agencies
  • Take lead responsibility on shift when required


Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Youth Work, Social Work, Level 3 Health & Social Care, Youth Work, or related field
  • Open to AYE Social Workers
  • Experience working with children and young people, particularly those with challenging behaviour
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practice (training provided)
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
  • Strong communication and report writing skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • NISCC registration (or willingness to obtain registration)
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Access NI check


Desirable

  • Registered with relevant professional body
  • Experience in residential or supported living environments
