About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Actuary to join our London-based reinsurance team. This role will focus on Motor reinsurance, with a particular emphasis on Fleet, Commercial Package, and Agricultural Vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the UK insurance market and work closely with underwriters to develop pricing strategies, assess risk, and provide analytical support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance actuarial models to support motor reinsurance pricing and risk assessment.
  • Collaborate with underwriters to analyze and price risks across Fleet, Commercial Package, and Agricultural Vehicles.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support underwriting decisions and portfolio management.
  • Monitor market trends, claims data, and regulatory developments to refine pricing strategies.
  • Conduct profitability analysis and loss forecasting for motor reinsurance portfolios.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to senior management, underwriters, and other stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in Motor insurance/reinsurance actuarial work is essential.
  • Knowledge of Fleet, Commercial Package, and Agricultural Vehicles is a strong advantage.
  • Strong understanding of the UK insurance and reinsurance market.
  • Proficiency in actuarial software and data analytics tools (, R, Python, Excel, SQL).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work closely with underwriters and cross-functional teams.
  • Nearly or fully qualified actuary (IFoA or equivalent) preferred.
