We are partnering with a high-growth, international Technology business to appoint a Director of Accounting into a pivotal, hands-on leadership role. This position will take ownership of group-wide accounting operations across multiple jurisdictions, driving both control and continuous improvement within a scaling finance function.
You will manage a team of 6, leading the shared-service accounting operations across international entities with full ownership of month-end close.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards – optimizing processes and identifying financial system improvements
- Oversee GL, Accounts Payable and Payroll operations partnering with external providers across jurisdictions
- Own intercompany accounting, including reconciliations, invoicing, consolidations and FX remeasurement
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting through robust journal review, balance sheet reconciliations and controls
- Partner with external advisors on tax compliance and filings across multiple territories
- Act as a key point of contact for international stakeholders, navigating differing regulatory and payroll frameworks (including country-specific complexities such as benefits and leave policies)
- Identify and implement process and system improvements, helping scale the function in line with business growth
- Support broader finance initiatives, system enhancements and ad hoc strategic projects
Given the exposures of this role, the position will ideally suit a fully qualified finance professional with strong technical accounting experience and awareness – which could best suit prior experience within an Accountancy practice. In addition – prior experience within a PE/VC backed business would be advantageous.
This role will operate under a hybrid model, circa 3 days on site in the London office.
