Commercial Director opportunity | Built Environment & Compliance Services

Up to £80,000 basic + bonus + car allowance/company car

Location: West Yorkshire (hybrid flexibility available)

Client-facing travel expected 1–2 days per week

A growing UK-based consultancy group operating across the built environment and compliance sectors is seeking an experienced Commercial Director to lead and shape its next phase of growth.

This senior leadership role reports directly to the Managing Director and will take ownership of commercial strategy across multiple service lines, with a particular focus on driving revenue growth, improving cross‑functional collaboration, and strengthening market presence within the construction sector.

You’ll lead an established commercial function including business development, estimating, and sales support teams, while introducing greater structure, accountability, and performance focus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the commercial and sales strategy across the group
  • Drive new business growth within contractors, developers, and national housebuilders
  • Create targeted campaigns, propositions, and bundled service offerings
  • Increase cross‑selling opportunities across business units
  • Enhance market positioning, branding, and go‑to‑market activity
  • Review and improve sales processes, reporting, and performance management
  • Support digital growth through stronger web and social media engagement
  • Lead, mentor, and develop commercial teams across multiple disciplines

Qualifications

  • Proven success in a Commercial/Sales Director / Head of Commercial/Sales position
  • Experience within built environment, engineering, compliance, construction services, or related sectors
  • Strong leadership and team development experience
  • Strategic thinker with a hands‑on approach to winning business
  • Track record of delivering commercial growth and implementing sales strategy
  • Knowledge of contractor and housebuilder markets would be highly advantageous
