Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical design across water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment works, pumping stations and network assets.
  • Contribute to the strategic technical direction and standards for our Electrical Engineering team.
  • Develop and evaluate options to identify the least whole-life cost solutions.
  • Review and approve technical reports, calculations, designs and drawings for compliance with technical, health and safety, legal and environmental standards.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and mentoring to support developing Engineers.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure scope alignment and integrated delivery.
  • Liaise with site managers on technical issues and ensure design proceeds in line with budgetary and programme constraints.
  • Provide technical leadership on industrial power system design, including specification of distribution substation and standby generation equipment (HV and LV systems).
  • Provide expert input into control systems design.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in electrical design.
  • Chartered Engineer status.
  • In-depth understanding of BS 7671:2018.
  • Experience working with contractors, clients and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Positive, adaptable mindset and strong team ethics.
